Handmade, Sewing

Simplicity 8124.

I love the off the shoulders trend and this dress Simplicity 8124, is so cute and easy to sew! I wore this to an engagement party and for a second time to Napa Valley. I used a lightweight linen I bought at Michael Levine’s during Mimi G Conference in L.A. The weather was almost too warm, but since it was the only cute dress I packed I suck it up and wore it. Maybe next time I won’t wait until last minute to pack. *insert maniacal laugh here.

Pattern Description: Peasant style mini dress and top by Cynthia Rowley with elastic neckline and sleeve band; romper has additional elastic waist.

Pattern Sizing: XS – XL I cut the XS.

Difficulty: easy.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?  This pattern runs big. I’m 33″ at the bust and the XS was still big.

Fabric Used: Linen from Michael Levine. Similar found here.

Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely!!

The husband and I at the Castello Di Amorosa in Calistoga, CA. The wine isn’t the greatest but the place makes up for it. I highly recommend it! Why is his shirt so small though?..lol
