I created this blog over a year ago, I’ve kept it private until a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been using it as my sewing journal, I really see no point of doing that anymore and decided to make it public. I have spent several hours editing my posts, seriously I think I was a pirate in my other life, I think some things must kept private. With that being said, I will skip the rest of 2017 and move on to my sewing projects of 2018.
This year I want to make things I can wear more than once. My closet is full of cute dresses I’ve made, they’re taking too much space. I’m usually really good with donating things I don’t wear often, but somehow is hard for garments made by me. What I need is more pants so my first pattern for this year is Simplicity 8457.
This is an easy pattern from Simplicity’s Amazing Fit line. I chose the average fit, size 10. They came together easily and I didn’t have to make any alterations. I always have to make some type of adjustment so not doing it for this pattern was a plus. I’m going to try other Amazing Fit patterns soon. I use a lightweight wool plaid I bought at my favorite store here in Chicago.

I adopted my dog late December, he doesn’t let me take pictures of him with my phone, but apparently he’s familiar with the camera. He saw me all dressed up and thought we were going somewhere. He followed me around for quite a while and made sure he was in every picture.
